Sandra Wise

Sandra leads the improvers group at a pace of around 12 minute miles. Her favourite race distance is 10 miles, her favourite race, perhaps unsurprisingly, is the Buntingford 10. Her ideal running partner would be Jo Pavey.

Alan Donovan

Alan is the joint leader of the 9-9:30 minute per mile group. His favourite distance is 10k. His ideal running partner would be someone with good conversation, who doesn’t take life too seriously. He has the following top tips for runners: hydrate before your run, and listen to your body.

Charlotte Jones

Charlotte is a leader on our beginners’ course, but can also be found helping out on beginners+. When not running with our beginners, she’d love to be with Eddie Izzard, as he’s not fast and could make her laugh! Charlotte’s favourite race is the Great South Run.

Andy Newbury

Andy leads the fast group on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at around 8.5 minute per mile pace. Andy’s a veteran of over 40 half marathons – that’s his favourite distance. His favourite race was the New York Marathon. He’d love to run with Gordon Ramsey, so they could shout at each other en route!

Maureen leads our beginners and improvers. Any group Maureen leads – as with all our steady groups – is at whatever pace is comfortable for all, with the front runners encouraged to loop back where necessary. Maureen doesn’t have a favourite distance, but prefers to be off road rather than on tarmac.

Helen leads a variety of groups, including our beginners’ group. She coordinates with other run leaders to ensure we’re providing training sessions suitable for all. She enjoys the 10k distance, and the team spirit provided by running in the mid week league and cross country league. Helen’s top tip is to join a running club – it keeps you motivated!
